Manchester United’s Fred has completed a move away from the club to join Fenerbache according to famous transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Fred’s future was uncertain heading into the current summer transfer window and many assumed at least one of him and Scott Mctominay (Also heavily linked with a move away) would leave.
And now it looks certain, with Romano giving his signature “Here we go” announcement on Twitter. The fee payed by the Turkish club was not made clear in the post, but it was said by the reporter earlier in the day that a 15m Euro bid was made.
The move may pave the way for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat to move to United, as it makes sense that a midfielder would first have to leave for another to arrive at the club. Romano has also said that new signing Rasmus Hojlund will get the number 17 once Fred’s departure is official.
The Brazilian was signed for United by Jose Mourinho in 2018 and he made a total of 213 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals and making 19 assists in the process.
It has been a busier than usual summer for The Red Devils and with that being the latest movement, they don’t look done yet.
