The 33-year-old midfielder has faced significant challenges with injuries in recent years, which played a decisive role in Liverpool’s decision not to renew his contract.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Thiago has opted to retire from professional football rather than seek a new club.

Thiago boasts an illustrious footballing career, having played for Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool, amassing an impressive collection of medals along the way.

Starting his career at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy, Thiago won four La Liga titles and the Champions League before transferring to Bayern Munich in 2013.

During his time in Germany, he clinched seven Bundesliga titles and added another Champions League trophy to his accolades in 2020.

Following his successful stint in Munich, Thiago joined Liverpool in 2020 for a fee of £20 million after helping Bayern secure another European title and earning a spot in the Champions League Team of the Year.

However, injuries plagued his tenure at Anfield, particularly in his final season, where he made only a brief appearance, totaling just four minutes on the pitch.
