Manchester United are said to have decided on the future of Hannibal Mejbri.
The youngster has spent several years as a known entity around the squad and the youth setup and finally got some senior football experience last season on loan at Championship club Birmingham City.
He impressed in the second tier, making 41 appearances for the club, one goal and six assists. The 20-year-old was also given some games to impress for The Red Devils in pre-season this summer, where he got a chance to make a good impression with Erik Ten Hag.
It seems he did, if reports are to be believed. Despite many believing he might make a step up this season with another loan, this time to the Premier League, it could be that he stays at United and gets minutes.
That’s what an Arabic outlet is reporting (Via UtdPlug on Twitter). It is said that United see Hannibal as a brilliant young player and with the performances produced in the recent friendlies, someone who should stay at the club.
With a host of midfielders already available to the manager, it remains to be seen how the Tunisian international might fit in. However, it does look like several midfielders such as Scott Mctominay, Fred and Donny Van De Beek could be on the move.
Whether or not the player will get enough minutes to develop in such a competitive team is up for debate.
