Fulham are reported to be looking for solutions in the transfer market in preparation for the ‘likely departure’ of Joao Palhinha.
The Portuguese international impressed in the Premier League in his first season after signing from Sporting CP last summer.
His performances did not go unnoticed with Liverpool one of a number of clubs linked with the 28-year-old over recent months.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool are the ‘most keen club’ in Palhinha as they look to replace Fabinho who looks set for a move to Saudi.
The journalist also suggests that Fulham are now actively looking for solutions with his departure now viewed as ‘likely’ assuming their asking price of €60million is met.
Tavolieri goes on to suggest that Palhinha could also be joined by Southampton’s Romeo Lavia at Anfield with developments expected for both in the next week.
The Transfer Room’s Verdict on Joao Palhinha Links to Liverpool
Palhinha had a fine first season in the Premier League and clearly seems to be well liked at Anfield.
Assuming Liverpool were also to sign Lavia, it would give the 19-year-old time to continue his development patiently rather than to be thrown straight in immediately.
As to whether Reds chiefs are willing to spend big on a 28-year-old however remains to be seen and probably means they may look elsewhere first.
