Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that new summer signing Ryan Gravenberch will not be available for Sunday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.
Gravenberch, who recently joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day, signed a long-term contract after successfully completing his medical at the AXA Training Centre.
The 21-year-old, however, is not eligible to participate in the game against Villa despite having trained with his new Liverpool teammates for the first time on Saturday, following the receipt of his work permit.
Gravenberch’s arrival has sparked anticipation among Liverpool fans, and they will have to wait a little longer to witness his skills on the pitch as he prepares to make his mark in the Premier League.
“Yeah. I got told that it will not happen with the paperwork – I’m pretty sure on deadline day everybody, or the decisive offices, are pretty busy,” Klopp said.
“I didn’t follow it yet, what’s going on there in the world of transfers, but I am pretty sure they are busy so I think that will not happen but we will see. In the moment we don’t even know if he can train tomorrow with us.
“Today is obviously super-busy, he landed this morning really early so he had to get up really early. It’s a super-intense day and let’s see if he can train tomorrow or not. There is now no need for any kind of rush.”
