Jurgen Klopp’s agent has refuted reports suggesting that the Liverpool manager could potentially take charge of Bayern Munich next season.
The clarification comes amid speculation regarding Klopp’s future and a potential move to the German club.
Marc Kosicke, exclusively told Sky Germany: “Jürgen Klopp will not coach any club or national team for a year after this current season. That remains unchanged.“
Klopp will step down as the manager of Liverpool at the end of the current season alongside his trusted assistants Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz, as well as elite development coach Vitor Matos.
The 56-year-old will bring an end to almost nine years in charge of the club, marked by significant success and achievement. Despite the impending departure, Klopp and his team still have four trophies to contend for before the conclusion of the season.
He was appointed as Liverpool manager on October 8, 2015, and has since led the Reds to clinch the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, League Cup, and UEFA Super Cup, as well as the FA Community Shield.
Klopp has been linked with the Bayern Munich job following Thomas Tuchel’s decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
Pressure on Tuchel intensified after Bayern’s third consecutive defeat across all competitions on Sunday, after a 3-2 loss to VfL Bochum.
Recent setbacks against Lazio in the Champions League and a 3-0 defeat to Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen on February 10 have further fueled speculation about Tuchel’s future with the club.
Bayern Munich have now decided to end their working relationship with Tuchel who replaced Julian Nagelsmann at the German champions in March 2023 on a deal until June 2025.
The former Chelsea boss led Bayern to last season’s Bundesliga title after taking over in the spring but they now sit eight points behind leaders Leverkusen.
Thomas Tuchel said: “We have agreed that we will end our working relationship at the end of this season. Until then, I will of course continue to do everything I can with my coaching staff to achieve maximum success.”
