The Reds have scored four goals in each of their first three pre-season games as Klopp prepares his team for the 2023/24 season which kicks off next week.

The Merseysiders will conclude their trip to Asia with a match against the Bundesliga champions at the Singapore National Stadium and the German is hopeful his players can show an encouraging representation of the work put in so far.

“For sure the most difficult game tomorrow, definitely,” Klopp said at a press conference. “We saw a few pictures of the previous games of Bayern against Kawasaki and against Man City.

“So, Bayern [are] traditionally a really good team. They have four world-class centre-halves, two world-class midfield pairings. Up front, speed and everything and technique, finishing skills. So that looked quite impressive, to be honest.

“But good. We wanted a strong opponent, we have a strong opponent, so this is definitely the toughest test for us in this pre-season. But that’s what you need in this moment.

“Yeah, I’m excited to see where we are, how we can adapt to the quality of the opponent because that’s part of football.

“From the first day since we are back, I try to make really clear that our defending has to be on a completely different level to the last season and we better do that tomorrow or otherwise we get real problems.

“That’s why I’m really looking forward to it – knowing [it’s] a top-class opponent but I think it makes sense that we will give it a try.”
