Liverpool have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in a deal worth £34.3m (€40m), according to BBC.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield since the start of the summer transfer window as Jurgen Klopp looks to refresh his engine this season.
The Reds will aim to conclude a deal before Friday’s transfer deadline. Klopp’s side have already brought in Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo this summer following the exit of five senior midfielders including Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
Gravenberch, who joined Bayern from Ajax last summer ranks fourth in the pecking order for central midfielders, trailing behind players such as Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, and Konrad Laimer.
He has struggled to secure consistent playing time, making only three starts while featuring as a substitute in the remaining appearances. Despite this, Gravenberch has made 33 appearances across various competitions, contributing to two goals.
Nevertheless, his role in the ongoing season remains uncertain. He recently made a substitute appearance against Augsburg, indicating that he may not be guaranteed more substantial involvement on the field.
Gravenberch’s versatility on the field has attracted interest from Manchester United as well. However, his reported preference aligns with Liverpool.
