Liverpool are one of several clubs monitoring the progress of Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite this season.

The 21-year-old is expected to give further thought to his future at Everton after being excluded from Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad.

Despite having earned an England cap under Gareth Southgate, Branthwaite was overlooked for the upcoming games against Albania and Latvia, with Newcastle’s Dan Burn receiving a first call-up instead.

Everton are preparing for renewed interest in Branthwaite this summer, especially after they rejected multiple bids from Manchester United last year.

Jarrad Branthwaite has just over two years remaining on his current Everton contract, which includes an option to extend for an additional year.

While he has shown willingness to discuss new terms, no formal negotiations have taken place with the club’s new ownership.

Everton face a challenging task in competing with the financial clout of the clubs eyeing a move for the defender at the end of the season.

Currently, Branthwaite is part of Lee Carsley’s England U21 squad and featured as a substitute in the 5-3 defeat to France on Friday.
