Liverpool have been scouting both Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth for quite some time. The Reds were even linked with the Spaniard before his move to the South Coast last Summer. With the signing of former Cherries Sporting Director Richard Hughes last year, it comes as no surprise that the Merseysiders would be interested in two players Hughes would have undoubtedly scouted intensely.

According to Miguel Delaney, Chief Football Writer for The Independent, two Premier League clubs are set to face off in the pursuit of the signature of Dean Huijsen. Liverpool and Chelsea both admire the player to a great degree, with Real Madrid also lurking in the background following the 19-year-old’s future developments.
Bournemouth recently entered contract talks with the young defender to include a release clause in his contract which becomes active this Summer. According to numerous reports in the last few weeks, the interest from Liverpool is real, and they have contacted Bournemouth to understand how the release clause works.

With the likes of Joe Gomez becoming more injury-prone in recent seasons and the youth of Jarrel Quansah needing more time to mature, it seems like the right time to invest in a new center-back to ease the pressure on the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate. Both of them have played a monstrous number of minutes this season.
The Cherries have set the release clause at £50million, and with so many teams interested in the services of Huijsen, it will be one of the bigger talking points this Summer to see where the Spaniard ends up.
