Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury he sustained during the 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
Alexander-Arnold, who captained the Reds for the first time was taken off after 71 minutes at Anfield after picking up a suspected hamstring issue, with Jarell Quansah replacing him.
Klopp is confident the injury is not a serious one, however, the 24-year-old will need further assessment.
The German said in his post-match press conference: “I don’t know exactly. I asked him, he said it’s [his] hamstring.
“’Not too serious’ is his opinion, but we obviously have to wait for the scans and then we will know more.”
Liverpool made it three Premier League wins in a row against Villa on Sunday. Dominik Szoboszlai’s first Reds goal opened the scoring for the Merseysiders in the opening three minutes.
That was followed by a Matty Cash own goal, forced by Darwin Nunez’s strike against the post, in the first half and Mohamed Salah made it 3-0 for Klopp’s men from a Nunez knockdown after the interval.
