Jordan Henderson is set to make a decision regarding his Liverpool future by the end of the week amid interest from the Saudi Pro League, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper claims that the 33-year-old is considering whether to quit Anfield and join other Premier League stars such as former teammate Roberto Firmino, N’Golo Kanté, and Kalidou Koulibaly in Saudi Arabia. The Reds are yet to receive a formal approach for their long-serving midfielder.

Henderson is attracting interest from the Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq which is currently managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and it was reported that he was not in talks with the club over a possible move.

However, it looks like the England midfielder, who has two years left on his contract could depart Anfield this summer. Jurgen Klopp has wasted no time in revamping his midfield following the exit of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The trio’s contracts were not renewed by the club after they expired last month. The Merseysiders have brought in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively.

It is believed that Henderson’s position in the first team could come under threat this season as he’s been tipped to take James Milner’s role at the club by becoming a bit-part player.

The oldest midfielder has helped Liverpool clinched several trophies during his time at the club including the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, and Emirates FA Cup.

Henderson was part of the second phase of players back at Kirkby for pre-season training ahead of the 2023-24 campaign which kicks off next month.

He has the sole right to decide whether to join Al Ettifaq or stay at Anfield, however, Klopp will expect a decision to be made sooner rather than later as they jet off to Germany for their pre-season camp on Saturday.
