Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is a transfer target for Al-Ittihad according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Saudi club have been relentless in their chase of Mohamed Salah over recent days with a report today suggesting they are prepared to offer a package of €150million for the Egyptian.
It appears that they also have an eye on England international Gomez with Romano suggesting he is very high on their ‘shortlist of defenders’.
The transfer guru claims that the Saudi club appreciates the 26-year-old’s versatility as he can play anywhere across the back line.
Jurgen Klopp is already likely to be without Virgil van Dijk for the visit of Aston Villa on Saturday after he was sent off in the sensational 2-1 victory over Newcastle.
Ibrahima Konate is also unlikely to be ready to face the Villans after a muscle injury meaning Gomez will have a chance to stake a claim to become a regular starter against Unai Emery’s team.
A few weeks back, it’s possible that the Anfield hierarchy may have listened to a significant offer for Gomez but as confirmed by Romano, they have no intention to sell any key players with the transfer window set to close in just four days time.
