Liverpool midfield pair Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are set to complete their moves to the Saudi Pro League this week, according to Liverpool Echo.
The Reds are waiting on the formalities of Henderson’s move to Al Ettifaq to be finalised as the club skipper brings an end to his 12-year stay at Anfield.
The 33-year-old missed Liverpool’s 4-2 pre-season friendly win over Karlsruher SC on Wednesday evening after Jurgen Klopp’s side agreed a deal in principle worth £12m plus add-ons to sell Henderson to Al-Ettifaq.
He left the Reds’ camp in Germany and travelled back to the United Kingdom to finalise the move. He has already undergone his medical and will put pen to paper on a three-year deal with Steven Gerrard’s outfit and earn a weekly salary of £350,000.
The England international will join his new Al-Ettifaq teammates in Croatia for pre-season if everything goes through without any last-minute hitches.
Fabinho, on the other hand, is also on the verge of sealing his move to Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad in the coming days. He has undergone his medical after the Reds agreed a £40m deal in principle for the 29-year-old, who has three years left on his current contract.
Similar to Henderson’s exit, some of the finer details of the deal are still to be finalised for the move to go through. Both players played key roles as they helped Klopp’s outfit win several titles including the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, and FA.
Liverpool have been linked with several midfielders including Ryan Gravenberch, Aurelien Tchouameni, Joshua Kimmich, Cheick Doucoure, Kalvin Phillips, and Romeo Lavia.
It is believed that the Merseysiders have talks with Southampton for the signing of Lavia, however, his asking price of £50m could be a stumbling block.
