Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has openly shared his admiration for the exceptional talent of the club’s summer signing Ryan Gravenberch.

Gravenberch, who moved to Anfield on transfer deadline day from Bayern Munich, has made quite an impression on his fellow teammates during training sessions at the AXA Training Centre.

The 21-year-old is on the cusp of making his highly anticipated debut for Liverpool when the Reds travel to Molineux Stadium to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in Saturday’s Premier League early kick-off encounter.

Jota told Liverpoolfc.com: “I think great. Obviously he has two very close friends, the Dutch players, and they are three now, so they can help each other.

“Obviously I’ve not been in and just had a couple of sessions with him, but you can see already the quality he brings [and] has on his feet.

“I think he will be one more to help us going forward.”

The Reds have picked up 10 points from a possible 12 after four matches so far in the new season as they currently lie 3rd in the Premier League table.

“It was not perfect, obviously we didn’t win all the games, but I think we must be happy because we changed a lot, we changed our approaches and we still got 10 out of 12 [points], and we had games with difficult circumstances with the red card,” the Portugal international added

“So I think it’s a positive start and hopefully we can go from here.”

Jota scored a brace and provided an assist during Portugal’s 9-0 victory over Luxembourg in a Euro 2024 qualifier.

“Always nice to score and getting back in Portugal and scoring,” he concluded. “Obviously I didn’t play in the World Cup, so it felt good.

“Back to the Premier League now, changed the ship, like you used to say, and go again.”
