Liverpool have initiated talks regarding a potential move for Jeremie Frimpong, according to the PA news agency.
The Bayer Leverkusen wing-back, who can also play as a winger, is one of Europe’s most sought-after talents. The report claims that while discussions are still in the early stages, the Reds are keen on securing his services.
A potential transfer domino that could accelerate Liverpool’s interest in Frimpong could be the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Reports suggest that a deal for the England international to join Real Madrid is now agreed, which could prompt Liverpool to act quickly.
Frimpong, 24, came through the youth ranks at Manchester City before making a significant impact at Leverkusen.

Since joining from Celtic in 2021, he has played a key role in their Bundesliga title win last season and their run to the Europa League final.

Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea are also believed to have shown interest in the Dutch international. Frimpong was part of the Netherlands squad that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has expressed confusion over Alexander-Arnold’s potential move to Madrid, questioning why the player would not see his long-term future at Anfield.
The 26-year-old made his debut for the club in 2016 at the age of 18.
Over the years, he has helped the Reds secure numerous trophies, including the Champions League, Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup.
With Arne Slot’s side currently 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League, a second league title appears likely.
