As Liverpool’s second bid for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia has been reportedly rejected, the club are ready to turn their attention to Brazilian Andre Trindade.
The Reds came into the summer transfer window with a midfield rebuild being the priority and with the unexpected departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, further incomings have been much more necessary.
Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai was a great start to build upon, however, build upon is exactly what the club has yet to do, despite the season starting in just over a week.
Jurgen Klopp, himself, spoke about the need to bring in more signings (plural) in an interview for LFCTV, which reveals his desires surrounding this window.
Unfortunately, number one target Romeo Lavia may no longer be possible due to FSG’s usual tight budget, with the club unwilling to pay an extra £9m.
Numerous reports by Paul Joyce and Fabrizio Romano, to name a few, claimed that Liverpool had put in a second bid for the midfielder, for around £41m
The reports also stated that the bid had been rejected by the Championship club, who reiterated their original asking price of £50M.
Andre Trindade Move?
Both Joyce and Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy revealed that the Merseyside club were looking at alternatives for the Belgian, one being Andre Trindade.
Reddy has now confirmed that the Reds have made official contact with Fluminense for their defensive midfielder.
Andre was targeted by fellow Premier League side Fulham, who are now concentrating on bringing in Fausto Vera from Corinthians.
As Romeo Lavia has reportedly shown his cards, leaning towards a move to Liverpool, would it be foolish to look elsewhere?
Is FSG’s penny pinching, leaving the German short once again, going to hold back Jurgen Klopp’s Reds to more success?
