The 24-year-old, who joined Jurgen Klopp’s side from Brighton earlier this summer shined in the no.6 role during their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge over the weekend.

Mac Allister feels settled within the club and is prepared to help the Reds win titles and secure Champions League qualification after finishing 5th in the Premier League table last season.

Asked how his first few weeks at Liverpool have been, the Argentina midfielder replied: “Special, special.

“It’s an honour for me to be in this club. I can see already how big this club is. So, very happy to be here. I’m really looking forward to this season.”

On the encounter at Chelsea, he added: “First of all, very happy for my debut with this club. It feels amazing.

“On the other hand, tough game, intense game against a very good team with good players. We know that they improved a lot during pre-season.

“So, it’s not a result we wanted but it’s still a point and we move on.”
