Liverpool are set to submit a bid worth £26m (€30m) for the services of Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram in the summer transfer window, according to El Nacional.

The Spanish outlet claims that the Reds are “willing to pay everything it would cost” to sign the 22-year-old and are “preparing a first offensive” in bid to sign Thuram in the coming days.

The France midfielder is also attracting interest from several clubs including Barcelona and  Bayern Munich, however, the former’s financial situation will make it difficult for them to make a move.

Nice’s valuation of Thuram could mean Barca would be out of the race for the midfielder, leaving Liverpool and Bayern to fight for his signature.

The Reds have already brought in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to bolster their midfield and it is expected that there could be at least one more signing in that department.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman who represented his country at the just-ended 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Thuram was one of the standout players for Nice last season – racking up 48 appearances across all competitions and making 10 goal contributions as they finished 9th in the Ligue 1.

He has two years left on his current contract with the club and as it stands, he has given no indication of signing a new deal, therefore Nice could sell him if his asking price is met.
