Talks are still on-going between Liverpool and Southampton regarding the transfer of highly-rated midfielder Romeo Lavia, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Reds have submitted a fourth bid for the 19-year-old and is believed that the latest offer would be enough to convince the Saints into selling him this summer.

The former Manchester City youngster was left out of the Saints’ matchday squad for tonight’s EFL Cup match against League Two side Gillingham and was also absent at the training camp this morning.
Southampton rejected Liverpool’s third bid for Lavia which is believed to have been about £46m including add-on after an initial bid of £34m plus £4m in add-ons was turned down last month before a second offer of around £42m was similarly dismissed last week.
The South Coast side reportedly want £50m for the young midfielder and are standing firm on their valuation.
He was an unused substitute in Southampton’s 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday last Friday in their 2023/24 Championship opener.
The Belgium U-21 international is attracting interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United but he remains keen on a switch to Anfield.
He moved to the St Mary’s Stadium last summer from Manchester City and has four years left on his contract, therefore, Russell Martin’s outfit are under no pressure to sell.
Pep Guardiola’s outfit are entitled to 20 percent of any fee received for his services,
Jurgen Klopp is keen on reinforcing his midfield with a third signing in that area of the pitch following the exits of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The German has already brought in two midfielders following the arrivals of Argentina midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai who joined the Reds from RB Leipzig in July.
