Liverpool are still interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch this summer, according to SPORTBILD.
The Reds were first linked with a move for the 21-year-old earlier in the window but Bayern are reluctant to sell him, having just signed him from Ajax last summer.
Thomas Tuchel wants to keep Gravenberch at the club even though the Bundesliga champions want to bring in a defensive midfielder following the arrival of Konrad Laimer on a free transfer.
The Bavarians are under no pressure to sell him, therefore Liverpool would have to make a huge offer to convince them into selling the young midfielder.
Gravenberch struggled for regular playing time last season at Bayern where he featured in 33 games and made two goal contributions with most of his appearances coming as a substitute.
The Netherlands U-21 international has already admitted he may be forced to leave Bayern in search of more playing time following a difficult debut season with the German champions.
“To be honest, yes I am,” Gravenberch told ESPN. “I expected to play more minutes than I did.Â
“I thought I would get some more chances. It’s about just wanting to play, that’s the most important thing at my age.Â
“I hope it’ll be at Bayern – otherwise, we’ll just have to look further.
“I want to play, but the manager is picking other players. I have to accept it, but it’s difficult.Â
“I was hoping for more minutes but I have to stay calm. I told everyone that I don’t want another year like that. Of course, you can’t always be in the starting XI, but you can still play regularly – you can get a lot of minutes.”
The Reds have already secured the signing of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai but are still keen on bringing in midfield reinforcement following the exit of Naby Keita, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho.
Several midfielders have been linked with a move to Liverpool including Romeo Lavia, Andre, Kalvin Phillips, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
