Manchester United are having a torrid time as of late, but Erik ten Hag is not under pressure. United can’t seem to stop losing at present, and things seem to be going from bad to worse for the Dutch manager and his side.
It’s a familiar pattern at the club over the last ten years. It seems like no manager can succeed under the ownership of the Glazer’s, due to the absence of a culture at the club due to 15 years of dire mismanagement.
Erik ten Hag has quickly found out Louis Van Gaal was right about Manchester United being a commercial club.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are fully behind Erik ten Hag. United slumped to a 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray last night, but that has not changed anything for the hierarchy at United.
This may change throughout the season, as the Glazer’s are notorious for sacking managers when Champions League qualification is impossible. They thrive off the revenue from the competition.
Erik ten Hag has signed 7 or so senior players but more are needed to turn this into his side. He’s a manager who’s philosophy thrives on players comfortable in possession. Manchester United lack those.
Results do need to pick up for the team, but at present there is no pressure on ten Hag. Manchester United have three very winnable games coming up. They expect that to kickstart their season.
A bleak time for Manchester United, but togetherness is needed to get through.
