Manchester United are not currently working on a deal to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus, despite recent reports from Italy. United may look for a winger in January, but they have not started working on a deal for Chiesa as of yet.
Reports in Italy have suggested United are among the clubs working on a deal for Chiesa, but sources close to us here at the Transfer Room understand that is not the case.
United are working on a solution to the Jadon Sancho situation before deciding whether to press forward for a new winger.
United Have Not Made A Move For Chiesa:
Jadon Sancho has yet to apologise to Erik ten Hag, and the situation looks bleak at the moment. There is huge chances for the player to leave in January, and Borussia Dortmund are lurking.
The situation however is still open, and due to this United have not began working on a deal for Chiesa. There is still a slim chance Sancho remains at the club, and it would not make sense to sign a right-winger if they did.
Chiesa is surely expected to be a target for United if they do decide to sell Sancho, but it’s currently too soon to suggest a move has been made. There are also other right wing targets on the list for United.
Erik ten Hag is a huge fan of left footed right wingers, and the feeling is United will target one of those. Johan Bakayoko is someone the club are likely to have interest in.
No move for Chiesa as of now, but that’s not to suggest there won’t be a move at any stage.
