A group of Manchester United fans have decided to protest the potential return of footballer Mason Greenwood to the club.
Manchester United are still preparing their squad for the upcoming season and there are still several players on the club’s wage bill who are not certain to be featuring for the team in 23/24.
One of those is Greenwood, who has not played a professional match since being suspended in January 2021, when photos and videos were leaked online of him allegedly abusing his partner Harriet Robson.
Following a court case, it was decided that the striker would not be charged with any crime and that he would remain a free man.
However, a club investigation is still said to be ongoing and it is uncertain whether he will return to Manchester United this season, go on loan or leave altogether.
A group of fans calling themselves “Female Fans Against Greenwood’s Return” are protesting against his return and have released a statement online. It can be read in full below via their Twitter page.
Rumours have indicated that an official statement from the club themselves will be released regarding the player before The Red Devils’ opening game against Wolves on Monday night.
