Manchester United have held talks over a deal for Sofyan Amrabat, say reports. United have already signed one midfielder this summer. Mason Mount arrived at Old Trafford as Erik Ten Hag’s top target from Chelsea.

United will prioritise the signing of a goalkeeper and a striker before another midfielder. Options such as Romeo Lavia, Moises Caicedo and others had been discussed. However, United seem to be focusing on Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat – a name Ten Hag is familiar with.

Amrabat has been outlined for some time as a real target for United. Atletico Madrid are another side interested but their financial issues could mean they lose out. A new report has stated that United have held talks and could explore a move later in the window.

United ‘hold talks’ over Amrabat transfer

United are closing in on the signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan. The Red Devils are then going to turn their attention to the signing of Ramsus Hojlund. However, a new report from Florian Plettenberg states that talks have been held over a possible move.

“Manchester United is monitoring Sofyan Amrabat very closely. At this stage, it’s not advanced but first
talks have taken place it could become a hot topic later in this window.”

Amrabat had a great World Cup and would be an upgrade on both Fred and Scott McTominay. Both of the current midfielders could leave the club this summer.
