Manchester United are intensifying their interest in Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, says reports. The Bayern Munich midfielder has been named as a United target for some time over the last months.
Goretzka has been outlined as an option for both United and Liverpool in recent times. Both clubs are looking to add to their midfield options this season.
United are closely monitoring Sofyan Amrabat who is known to be Erik Ten Hag’s next target to sign. The Red Devils will offload both Fred and Donny Van De Beek before any midfielder gets close to arriving at Old Trafford.
Manchester United Intensifying Interest In Leon Goretzka
Despite Amrabat being named as the next target for midfield, Goretzka is ‘one to watch’ according to a new report. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports in Germany says that United are intensifying their situation with the German.
“Manchester United are planning to intensify their efforts for Leon Goretzka. The midfielder could still have to leave Bayern this summer, although his desire is to stay.”
The situation with Amrabat and Goretzka is quite different. Amrabat is planning to leave Fiorentina whilst Goretzka wants to stay at Bayern.
It’s also understood that a move for the German midfielder would cost more than what the Serie A side want for Amrabat.
