Midfield is a tricky position to choose your number one target in with so many top options available on the market. A new report has linked Manchester United with a Bayern Munich midfielder who has become a top player for the German giants.
Whilst there is no current clear indication that Bayern would be open to selling the player his future may be in doubt. If the Bundesliga champions were to move for and be successful in their pursuit of Declan Rice then Leon Goretzka could be available.
Liverpool have already been linked with the player and now United are also said to be monitoring the situation. The German midfielder would be a top range signing and would be an incredible addition to Erik Ten Hag’s side.
The new report comes from the ever reliable Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg who says; “Man Utd is monitoring his (Goretzka) situation! MUFC is aware of the fact that his future his uncertain because of Rice.
But no concrete talks or negotiations yet. Goretzka is staying calm and his position is clear: He definitely wants to stay as he identifies 100 % with FC Bayern! And: Rummenigge supports him.”
It seems an unlikely deal but the Red Devils are paying close attention in case he becomes available.
