Manchester United are now planning a new contract for Erik ten Hag, according to Scott Saunders from 90min. The club believe ten Hag is the right man to drive the club forward, and want to reward him for a good season last year.
Despite the start of the season not going to plan, United are fully backing Erik ten Hag and what he is trying to do with the club. Richard Arnold and John Murtough both feel the Dutch manager is the right man to bring United back.
A new contract is being discussed, and could be offered soon.
Erik ten Hag: The Right Man
Manchester United have famously not given managers time since Alex Ferguson left the club, but Erik ten Hag is someone they really need to back. Last season was one of the best in recent times, and there is clear evidence of a change in culture.
This season may not have started off brightly, but injuries have meant ten Hag has had to make do with what he has. Performances like last night against Crystal Palace are clear indicators of what he is trying to build.
United have backed the manager through the Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo situation, and they also need to back him through this heavy period. The form will return. Progression is now linear, especially not in the Premier League.
A top four finish and a trophy should be an aim this season for the club. Next season, the aim has to be returning to the summit of English football.
Erik ten Hag looks to have the support of the club, as well as the fans.
