Manchester United had the chance to sign Moises Caicedo for just £4million before he joined Brighton. However, a deal was never sanctioned by the clubs owners, the Glazers – yet another huge mistake from the American ownership of the club.
Caicedo was said to have been a United fan and was always open to the move to Old Trafford some years ago. United never pulled the trigger and so he joined the seagulls, a move that has proved to be a great choice for both player and club.
This now leaves the Red Devils at a huge disadvantage as they do want to sign the midfielder but will have to pay around TWENTY times more for the player. According to a new report, United still admire the player and he is on their list this summer.
Chelsea and Arsenal are two clubs who are still pushing for Caicedo and are probably ahead of United in any race to sign the player. The Blues could be set to push for the midfielder due to them missing out on Manuel Ugarte who is signing for PSG.
However, United cannot be ruled out of the race for Caicedo and could turn to the player if a deal is achievable this summer.
