The Glazer family made an announcement on November 22nd of 2022 that they were looking to sell Manchester United in the coming months. Nearly a year on and their decision has not been communicated.
Reports close to the saga called it a mess. The Glazer family as a whole remained undecided on the sale, and have strung along potential suitors in the process.
The feeling now however, is that Sheikh Jassim is closing in on a gigantic victory. The prize? The biggest football club on the planet.
Sheikh Jassim To Buy United?
David Ornstein stated this morning that we could be perhaps nearing the end of the saga. A sale may be close.
The feeling has always been that the situation would be resolved after the transfer window, which hasn’t been an easy one for United under the current owners.
Sheikh Jassim is thought to be closing in on a victory, beating out Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos in the process.
Mehmet Dalman of Cardiff suggested last week the Glazers were close to announcing the sale of the club for $7billion. Perhaps he knew more than many gave him credit for.
The fans of Manchester United will hope this is not another false dawn.
