Erik ten Hag stated last night that young player’s aren’t handed opportunities under him, they have to earn them. Hannibal Mejbri has proved he’s earned them in his opening three games in the United first-team.
A goal against Brighton, followed by good performances against Burnley and Crystal Palace has shown the ability of the player. United however have been aware of that ability for a while.
The club want to offer Hannibal a new deal in the coming weeks.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are planning to offer Hannibal Mejbri a new contract in the coming weeks.
Erik ten Hag rates Hannibal highly. The manager did not want to lose him this summer, and turned down offers from Sevilla to take him on loan. Hannibal is likely to play an important role for United this season.
Talks between the club and player are expected to start soon. Hannibal is open to discuss a new deal with the club. His current on expires in June 2025, but the club have an option of a further year.
Sevilla remain interested in Hannibal and are still following his progress. The expectation however is that he will commit his future to Manchester United.
