Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is wanted by Saudi Arabia ahead of the January Transfer window. The Saudi League is looking to continue its upward growth, and a profile of players as big as Sancho is something the league feels it needs. Sancho has fallen out with United manager Erik ten Hag, and there is no sign of a way back.
Sancho hasn’t featured for United since the Nottingham Forest game on the 26th of August. There was a disagreement between the manager and player behind the scenes, and Erik ten Hag left the winger out of the United squad to face Arsenal. Sancho then tweeted after his exclusion was made public, and since then has not been allowed to train with the squad.
Sancho To Saudi?
The feeling now is that there is no way back for Jadon Sancho. Manchester United are fully exploring the possibility of him leaving the club, and January could be a likely exit point. Matt Law of the Telegraph has revealed this morning that Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in Sancho. United are likely to be intrigued by that prospect, but it will be up to Sancho to decide if he wants to go down that route.
United have already begun profiling right-wingers to replace Sancho in the coming months. Johan Bakayoko of PSV is someone of interest to the club, as well as Yeremy Pino from Villarreal. United wants an explosive winger to help with transitions, to go along with Antony’s qualities and his abilities in possession for United.
There is also interest in Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. As it stands, a loan with the option to buy remains Sancho’s most likely route out of the club. United would settle for around £40million in the overall fee, as they are unlikely to recoup the full £73million they signed him for.
A bitter end for Sancho at United is coming, and you can’t help but think both parties would have rathered this situation end differently.
