Mason Greenwood has now joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United. It was a race against time in the final minutes of the window, but a deal has now been completed.
United decided they would not be going ahead with Greenwood two weeks ago after the completion of their internal investigation. The club helped him in finding a new club, and Getafe have now completed a deal.
The deal is a season-long loan.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Mason Greenwood has completed a loan move to Getafe from Manchester United.
Getafe moved in the final hours of the window to get a deal done. The club worked against the clock to finalise the paperwork, and completed it just in time.
United were keen to move Greenwood on this summer after deciding he would not play for the club again. A free transfer or a loan was an option, as well as a complete severance from his contract.
It is unlikely Greenwood will play for Manchester United again after the loan. The expectation is he will leave on a permanent next summer.
