Liverpool youngster Max Woltman has confirmed that he will be leaving Liverpool, his boyhood club, after 15 years at the Reds.
The 19-year-old announced that he would be leaving the club on his Instagram and the club then shortly after tweeted out his departure.
He will be joining League 1 side Oxford United who he has been on trial at throughout the summer.
Woltman was given his first-team Liverpool debut at the San Siro against AC Milan in 2021 and he went onto make one more senior appearance for the club against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.
Last season he went out on loan to Doncaster Rovers but it didn’t go as planned so he was recalled by Liverpool after 14 appearances.
Woltman will be continuing his career on League one with Oxford United who finished 19th last season.
Their manager, Liam Manning, said this about Woltman whilst he was on trial at the club: “It’s more of a development project than it is coming in and impacting the team straight away.
“In terms of the personality he was and the character he showed, and some of the quality he showed in glimpses, I think he’s the type of player that fits how we want to play.”
Oxford United start their season on Saturday away to Cambridge United.
