Mohamed Salah has provided a positive injury update for Liverpool as he rejoined full training ahead of their highly anticipated Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Salah participated in an open training session held on Wednesday afternoon at the AXA Training Centre.

This development comes in preparation for Liverpool’s Europa League round of 16 first-leg match against Sparta Prague scheduled for Thursday.

The 31-year-old’s return to training is a welcome boost for the Reds as they gear up for crucial fixtures in both domestic and European competitions.

Speaking of Salah’s potential return to action last month, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “It is day by day as well with Mo. It’s a similar area where he feels it (fatigue) a little bit.

“We have to see how it develops. It’s nothing crazy, but we have to see.”

Salah has faced limited playing time for Liverpool in the past two months, making only a 46-minute substitute appearance.

This restriction was initially due to his participation in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, followed by a muscle injury sustained during the tournament.

These setbacks have curtailed Salah’s on-field contributions for Liverpool in recent weeks. Salah faced a setback in his return from injury after missing seven games due to the issue.

He made a comeback from the bench, showcasing his impact by scoring a goal and providing an assist during Liverpool’s 4-1 Premier League victory over Brentford last month.

Unfortunately, he aggravated the injury, leading to his absence in the subsequent four games, including the dramatic League Cup final triumph against Chelsea at Wembley.

In a positive turn of events, Salah returned to the pitch at Kirkby on Tuesday, participating in the training session.

This development indicates his readiness and willingness to contribute as Liverpool prepared to travel to Czechia for the Europa League clash.

Salah’s return to training suggests a potential comeback in upcoming fixtures, bolstering Liverpool’s attacking prowess.

Salah has made 28 appearances, scored 19 goals, and registered 10 assists for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
