Arsenal came close to the Premier League title this season, with Mikel Arteta’s side maybe just being 2 or 3 players short from winning the whole thing in the end. They are hoping to bridge that gap this summer.

Declan Rice is a player Arsenal have admired for a long time and they have finally moved into the lead when it comes to the race for the midfielder.

Arsenal are favourites to sign Rice, and the only thing they may have to worry about is a late approach from Manchester United.

As reported by Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian, Arsenal remain in the lead for Declan Rice this summer despite recent conversations with Bayern Munich.

The feeling is that Rice would not be interested in a move to Germany, and wants to stay and play his football in the Premier League. This gives Arsenal a massive advantage.

Arsenal have concrete interest in Rice and have been the club leading the charge for his signature for the last number of months.

Manchester United also have interest in Rice and at present they would be the club the Gunner’s would have to worry about most. United however are yet to make a bid, and are just exploring the possibility as of now.

Arsenal will send a bid over after the Conference League final, and if it matches the valuation of West Ham they are expected to accept it. The fee is expected to be around £80million.
