Andre Onana’s move to Manchester United is now effectively complete. The smallest of formalities remain before the deal can be done. United will sign the Inter Milan goalkeeper in the coming hours.
It has been a longer process than United would have wished but it is now inches away from being a done deal. Inter Milan were busy with the Romelu Lukaku saga the last two days, but are now fully attentive towards getting a deal completed for Onana.
Manchester United are expected to pay £43million plus add-ons.
Onana 99.9% Done:
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United’s deal for Andre Onana is now 99.9% complete. The deal is effectively done for the goalkeeper.
Personal terms have already been verbally agreed but they will now be formally agreed between the club and player. Inter and United are expected to formalise an agreement later on today.
If Onana completes his medical in time he will be on the plane to the United States with his new team-mates on Wednesday as they travel for their pre-season tour. The Inter goalkeeper is the replacement for David De Gea, after he left on a free earlier this month.
Once a deal for Onana is done United will then turn their attention to a striker. Rasmus Hojlund and Randal Kolo Muani are two names that top the list. The club have also looked at Goncalo Ramos.
Another dragged out saga for United in the market, but they are now very close to getting their man.
