Matej Kovar impressed for Manchester United in pre-season, and he has now got a permanent move out of the club to Bayer Leverkusen.
Kovar won the Czech league with Slavia Prague last season, and he will now get a chance to compete in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen.
United will receive a fee for the player as they continue to offload players out of the club.
Bayer Leverkusen Sign Kovar:
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Bayer Leverkusen have signed Manchester United’s Matej Kovar for €9million.
Kovar looked like he could be part of United’s plans this season, but the club have decided to let him go. Tom Heaton is currently the second choice goalkeeper.
United are likely to have a buy-back clause in the deal and a first right of refusal. Kovar was highly rated in the club, but not deemed ready yet.
€9millionis good value for a player who never made a competitive start for the first-team. It shows United’ ability to negotiate better with outgoings as opposed to the past.
A second choice goalkeeper could come in to replace Kovar, but it’s not thought to be imminent.
