Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich could consider making a move for Liverpool midfielder Fabinho according to a report.
The Brazilian appears to be on the verge of a move to Saudi after Al-Ittihad offered £40million for him, a figure the Anfield hierarchy clearly found too difficult to turn down.
Reports have suggested that the 29-year-old has already undertaken his medical and that it was just a matter of time before the deal was confirmed.
Skipper Jordan Henderson is also expected to depart for Saudi after Liverpool agreed a deal with Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq meaning Jurgen Klopp is on the verge of losing two of his most experienced players.
According to Florian Plettenberg (via Bundesliga Latest) however, Bayern see Fabinho ‘as one of the candidates’ as they look to strengthen their midfield.
The reporter for Sky does suggest however that Liverpool hope to complete the sale of the Brazilian to Al-Ittihad over the weekend hence it would take the transfer to collapse for Bayern to possibly make their move.
The Transfer Room’s Verdict On The Future Of Fabinho
Fabinho’s move to Saudi does seem imminent hence it is hard to imagine at this point that he could end up at Bayern.
It’s an interesting thought, however, especially with Liverpool needing midfield reinforcements of their own and having been linked to Joshua Kimmich over recent days.
Could a player swap be in the works? Unlikely but you never know in this crazy transfer window.
