Chelsea are still pushing to try and sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton, even after Liverpool agreed a British transfer record fee for the player.
Moises Caicedo was someone Chelsea chased for a number of months, so to miss out on the deal is a bit embarrassing for Todd Boehly and co.
Chelsea are trying to salvage the deal but it will not be easy.
As reported by Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea are still trying to sign Moises Caicedo despite Liverpool agreeing a deal for the player.
Caicedo had agreed personal terms with Chelsea some time ago and there is a feeling he would still be open to the move.
Liverpool will work in getting the player side done today, and will then have Caicedo undergo a medical. The feeling is Liverpool will not lose out on Caicedo despite Chelsea trying again.
To beat Liverpool to the signing Chelsea would likely have to bid above £110million. It’s not out of the question, but very unlikely Chelsea would sanction a deal for that.
A few tense moments to come for Liverpool, but they should have their man by the end of the day.
