Rasmus Hojlund has fulfilled his life-long dream of becoming a Manchester United player, and he turned down some big clubs to get there. Chelsea were one of those clubs.
PSG’s interest is well documented in Hojlund, with the French club offering a bigger wage packet than United. A Premier League club were said to be interested the week United signed Hojlund, that has now been revealed to be Chelsea.
United announced the £64million signing without add-ons deal for Hojlund yesterday.
Chelsea Had Interest In Rasmus Hojlund:
As reported by Adam Crafton of the Athletic, Chelsea were interested in signing Manchester United new man Rasmus Hojlund.
A Premier League club was said to have contacted the agent of Hojlund the week United finally sealed the deal, and that now seems to be Chelsea.
Hojlund only ever wanted Manchester United as he was a boyhood fan of the club growing up. PSG had the Dane as their main target, but could not convince him to join.
United will be without Hojlund for at least the first two games as he returns to fitness following a pre-season injury.
Chelsea may rue missing out on Rasmus Hojlund in the end, but they will be very happy with the signing of Nicolas Jackson at the same time.
