Chelsea have made a bid for Liverpool target Romeo Lavia, and it’s worth £48million. This is the fee Southampton have wanted all along.
Liverpool were expected to raise their bid in the coming days after having previous bids rejected, but Chelsea entering the race may completely change their plans.
The expectation is that Southampton will accept Chelsea’s new bid.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have made a £48million bid for Liverpool target Romeo Lavia.
It is a bid that could force Liverpool’s hand, as Southampton have always demanded £48million. Liverpool must now decide whether to raise their bid of walk away.
Should Liverpool raise their bid to match Chelsea’s £48million, it will then become the choice of the player. Lavia has been open to a Liverpool move for a number of weeks, but Chelsea’s emergence could change that.
This is the second time Chelsea have bid for Lavia, after having a bid rejected last summer for the same fee.
It’s not ideal news for Liverpool, but the important thing now is how they react.
