Chelsea are now set to explore the centre-back market after the injury to Wesley Fofana, and have been linked to Harry Maguire in recent weeks. United are open to the sale of Maguire for around £40million.
Fofana has ruptured his ACL and could miss the entire upcoming season for Chelsea, and the club are now expected to sign another centre-back. Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile are there alongside Thiago Silva, but one more is needed at the club.
Harry Maguire’s injury record is almost perfect, and Chelsea have previous interest in the United man.
Maguire To Chelsea?
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will explore the market for a centre-back after Wesley Fofana’s injury. Harry Maguire is available on the market, and he’s someone Chelsea have looked at in the past.
The decision will fall to Mauricio Pochettino after Chelsea send an improved bid for Moises Caicedo. Danny Rose recently revealed that Pochettino was a fan of Harry Maguire before he signed for Manchester United, and that could open up a move to Chelsea.
“Touching on Harry, we played Hull at White Hart Lane and I think we won 2-0 or 3-0, I think Steve Bruce was manager, and straight away our gaffer was all over Harry.
I think [Spurs] were in for him. Once Poch had took a liking to him, I started to notice him straight away.”

Manchester United are open to selling Maguire this summer and would accept a fee of around £40million. Interested clubs however feel they could accept around £30million in the later days of the window.
There are other centre-backs Chelsea could go for and Maguire is just one of the options. Moises Caicedo is the priority for now, and then attention will turn to a central defender.
