Chelsea want Kai Havertz to stay at the club and extend his current 2-year deal, but they will sell him to any potential suitors if he refuses to commit his future to the club this summer.

Havertz is the subject of serious interest from Real Madrid as they look to replace Karim Benzema and the club are currently in contact with his agent to try and work out the conditions of a deal.

Chelsea would prefer to keep Havertz, but they will not allow him to run his contract down.

As reported by Adrian Kajumba via MadridXtra, Chelsea have informed Kai Havertz he either renews his current contract at Chelsea or he will be sold to any interested club that pays the right fee this summer.

That interested club at the moment is Real Madrid, and the current feeling is that Havertz will have no interest in signing a new contract with Chelsea. The German is keen on a move to Madrid.

Madrid will have to pay around €60million to sign Havertz, and Chelsea would be willing to sell if a new contract isn’t agreed with the player.

Havertz has 2-years left on his current deal but Chelsea are not keen on a repeat of their current situation with Mason Mount who they could lose on a free.

The coming days will be key as Chelsea do want Havertz to stay, but they will not let him stay if he does not renew.
