Manuel Ugarte is set to be unveiled as a PSG player in the next day or so but things really could have been a lot different if Chelsea had not have decided to pull out of the deal.

Ugarte was one of the priorities for Chelsea but certainly not the only target the club had on their list, and they will now turn their attention to them other targets in the coming days.

Moises Caicedo is a name high up on that list for Chelsea.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via YouTube, Chelsea are set to target a new midfielder after they pulled out of the race for Manuel Ugarte.

Chelsea did not want to pay above market value for Ugarte so in the end decided they could do a better deal elsewhere for another player. They are now ready to try for other midfielders.

The Blue’s have been informed on the Moises Caicedo situation since May and have had interest in him since January at the least. One stumbling block they might have is Arsenal’s concrete interest in Caicedo.

Romeo Lavia is also a concrete target for Chelsea and will be sold by Southampton this summer for a fee of around £40-50million. Chelsea have an advantage in that race due to Lavia’s relationship with club director Joe Shields.

Both players would cost Chelsea a possible £120million or even more depending on Brighton’s valuation for Caicedo. The club are prepared to spend big.
