Everton have stepped up their approach of Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga and launched a £15-20million bid for the player. Initial reports suggested United would only receive around £8million, but the reported fee today is higher.
United are open to the sale of Elanga, with the Swedish winger unlikely to be a part of the plans next season at the club. Everton have long standing interest in the player dating back to January.
United are yet to respond to the offer.
Everton Bid For Elanga:
As reported by Simon Stone of the BBC, Everton have launched a bid for Anthony Elanga of between £15-20million. United are likely to accept this offer. It would be United’s biggest sale since Daniel James in 2021.
Everton have long standing interest in Elanga, who is a Swedish international. The Blue’s will feel it’s a fair offer, and United are anticipated to feel the same. Selling a homegrown player in Elanga for around £20million will help their FFP situation.
United are currently in direct talks with Inter Milan over Andre Onana, and are likely to submit a bid today. Elanga’s situation may be dealt with after them talks are over.
The Red’s are one of the worst clubs in the league at making profit on players, but Elanga will be one of the rare occasions when they do. The Swedish winger came through the ranks at the club’s academy, and was maybe pushed into the first-team prematurely under Ralf Rangick.
The bid is in, and Everton will feel confident of landing Anthony Elanga. Over to you, Manchester United.
