According to The Athletic, former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is on the verge of leaving Bayern Munich this summer after holding talks with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
The online news portal claims that Mane’s representative, Roof agency met Al Nassr sporting director Goran Vucevic at the Pine Cliffs Hotel in Portugal to discuss the potential move.
The 31-year-old has endured a difficult time in Germany following his switch from Anfield last summer on a three-year contract in a deal worth around £35m.
It is believed that club officials have told Mane that he is not in their plans for the upcoming season which kicks off in August.
During his time at Bayern, the Senegal international scored 12 times and recorded six assists in 38 games across all competitions as The Bavarians beat Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title on a dramatic final day last season.
He has been linked with a move to several clubs but it seems he is leaning towards a move to the Gulf States despite Premier Lague clubs Newcastle United and Chelsea showing keen interest in signing him.
Mane helped Liverpool win the Champions League, Premier League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, Carabao Cup, and the Emirates FA Cup. He also netted the winning penalty as Senegal won the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 2021.
If the move goes, he will join his former teammate Roberto Firmino in Saudi Arabia and will play together with Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo Brozovic, and Seko Fofana at Al Nassr. The Saudi club are also hoping to complete a deal for United full-back Alex Telles.
