Granada are now in talks with Manchester United to sign left-back Alvaro Fernandez on loan. United would like Fernandez to get some first-team experience this season.
It’s likely to be a move Fernandez himself is open to due to the fact it’s in his home nation of Spain. The United full-back spent last season on loan at Preston North-End.
Granada are trying to insert a buy-option in the deal for Fernandez.
As reported by Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports News, Granada are in formal talks with Manchester United over a move for Alvaro Fernandez.
Fernandez is unlikely to get much first-team minutes over Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia this season, so a loan suits the young Spaniard.
United signed Fernandez in 2020 from Real Madrid. The 20-year old is yet to break in to the first-team, but is highly rated by the club.
The Red’s are unlikely to accept the buy-option from Granada. The loan is expected to go through, but United will be keen to keep hold of Fernandez.
Granada will continue talks over the coming days with United. Burnley also keen.
