Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson will undergo his medical on Saturday ahead of his transfer to Al-Ettifaq according to a report.
The 33-year-old had agreed personal terms over a three-year deal with the Saudi club before the two clubs settled on a fee of £12million plus addons earlier this week.
Henderson had joined up with the Reds squad for their pre-season tour of Germany but was absent during the team’s 4-2 victory over Karlsruher SC on Wednesday.
It appears that the England international left the training camp and returned to London on Friday ahead of his medical tomorrow according to arriyadiyah.com.
The outlet claims that assuming Henderson completes his medical formalities, he will then finalise the transfer and join up with former teammate Steven Gerrard.
Jurgen Klopp looks set to lose another of his experienced players in addition to his skipper with Fabinho also looking likely to depart for Saudi after Al-Ittihad made a £40million offer for the Brazilian.
Once the deals are completed, focus will quickly switch as to who Liverpool target as replacements with the start of the new season on the horizon.
The Transfer Room Verdict On Jordan Henderson
Henderson has given everything for Liverpool over the past 12 years. His leadership will be missed but his performances on the field have dwindled over the past couple of seasons.
A change seems best for both parties with the Reds now heading for an exciting new chapter as they bid farewell to an outstanding captain.
