Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has reportedly made it clear that he wants to leave the club and go to Saudi Arabia.

Fabrizio Romano stated in his Here We Go podcast that the midfielder is not changing his mind on the move even though there appears to be difficulties between the two clubs.

Henderson had a meeting with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and was told that if he finds an opportunity to leave the club he can as his playing time will be limited.

Liverpool want a fee in the region of £15-20M for the England international as he still has two years left on his current contract but Al-Ettifaq thought they could get him for free or just £10M hence why a deal has not been agreed.

The 33-year-old will have already feel down the pecking order due to the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai from Brighton and RB Leipzig respectively.

It has been reported that if Henderson were to join up with Steven Gerrard, who is the manager of Al-Ettifaq, he would have an astronomical wage of £700,000 a week which blows his current wages out of the water.

So now it all depends on if both the clubs can come to an agreement about a fee.

If he were to depart it would force Liverpool’s hand in the transfer window due to the fact Fabinho is also reportedly on his way to Saudi Arabia.

Romeo Lavia has been a target for the Reds throughout the window but they may need to sign someone else as well as him to fill up the midfield.
